Besides water, dogs can also safely drink low-sodium chicken or beef broth as a treat in small amounts. You can also give them water that is flavored with a small amount of no-sugar added chicken or beef broth, or low-sodium bouillon to encourage them to drink more. Some veterinarians may also recommend pedialyte for dogs who are dehydrated or have diarrhea to replenish lost electrolytes. It’s important to note that other liquids such as milk, juice, and sugary or caffeinated drinks should be avoided as they can cause upset stomach, diarrhea and other health issues.
